What things to keep in mind? How to crack the hackathon? In detail I will tell you everything in proper time If you are new to the channel If you haven't subscribed to my channel yet, please do so now. There must be a lot of kids out there who don't know what Smart India Hackathon is. First of all, let me tell you what Smart India Hackathon is.
Look, there are a lot of companies in India that are currently facing technical problems from the government. And there are a lot of smart students in India who can solve these problems. So, like the Government of India, they have launched an initiative called Smart India Hackathon where companies and government bodies present their problem statements.
Students from different colleges participate in this and pick up the problem statements. They make PPTs, solutions, prototypes. There is an academy at a grand national level where you actually make solutions for it. And the top solutions are applied in the real world and companies use them. So your work will be used in the future. It is a very strong opportunity. Look, you are thinking that if you keep studying in college, keep doing assignments, you will get a job, your life will be set, but this is not the case.
Now let's talk about the eligibility criteria. There are a lot of kids who are currently preparing for their placement. I get messages on social media asking me if I'm not ready for the finals. I don't know where to start from. I don't know how to crack TCS.
So, can you believe? Can this person sit in this spot for 30-40 minutes and talk to this 12-year-old kid in the oldest spot? For you, we have come up with a one-stop solution. We have come up with a one-stop solution. We have come up with a one-stop solution.
We have come up with a one-stop solution. Let's see who all are eligible for this course. First of all, participants must be students enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate program from any recognized Indian institution. Basically, it means that anyone who is currently graduating, like BSP, B.Tech, B.Phd, all the students are eligible, along with M.C. and Ph.D. students are eligible. All the students are almost eligible, from any year. Is that clear?
Only students selected in internal hackathon can be registered. The person who selects the team of the college will tell that this is our top team, so they will move forward. Maximum of 50 teams, out of which 45 shortlisted and 5 waiting will be there, per college can be nominated. Including problem statement based or student innovation based.
Now I will tell you what is this thing. So, how is it? 50 teams are getting selected in our college. It is our tier 3 college in which only 10-15 teams participate. But there are many big universities and colleges in India in which 300-400 teams participate. We have to send the top 50, right?
That's why it has been said that only the top 50 will go. And 45 teams will be selected from the top 50. It has been kept in 5 backups that if any of the 45 teams are not selected due to any problem, then they will be selected from the top 5. All team members must be from the same college. Not inter-college, all must be from the same college. Each team consists of 6 members including the team leader. At least one team member is mandatory. This is the basic eligibility criteria. Let's move ahead.
The next thing is the timeline of the smart dinner hackathon. After that, it will be reported that we have conducted these things in the college. So, these things happen only in August and September. Then what will happen is, the top 15 will be nominated. So, you will know from your college only. So, you will say that there is another team in our college.
So, even if you don't have an internet high pass, it's not like that. You have to show at least. So, we have conducted an internet high pass. Then top 15 and top 20 are also there. So, they are sent to the top 20 that look at this. After that, ideas are screened. For example, there are thousands of ideas. Because students apply for 10 lakhs. So, many teams come and ideas are screened. It will happen between September and October. Results will be announced in October. Because many teams have applied.
Results will be communicated to them in the month of October. After that, you will be given mentoring and training sessions. For the main round, you will be given an area where you can participate. You will be given proper mentoring and guidance. After that, you will be given an announcement. The shortlisted candidates for the Smart India Hackathon will be informed.
You will be told that it will be held in November. In December, there will be a grand finale and the winner will be announced there. For example, yes, you have won the prize. So basically, you understood the proper shloka? Ok, understood. Now the question is, Sumer bhai, how to prepare for this?
So, let me guide you step by step on how to prepare for it. Many of you might be thinking that we have never participated in a high-kicker tournament. So, should we go? Because there are chances of winning. So, we are scared. So, I will tell you everything.
First of all, if you want to take care of anything, select your team. We will make a team in friendship. You come, you also come. We have to select a team which is actually calm. And has an equal level of skills. We don't want people who have the same skills.
It doesn't mean that everyone is a coder. It is believed that there should be a person in the team who can make a proper presentation, who can communicate fully with his thing. He should be a person who can even tell a match to a matchstick. There should be a builder, a coder who can actually build things.
A designer who can design it well. UI, UX, everything. This is how a team should be. If you are making a hardware team, then you should be able to make a hardware team as well. So, you have to select a team that can make such things. Not that it's a good thing, but it's a good job as well.
Second, when you select a problem statement, it should be based on two things. First, you have to look at the skills of your team. Who knows what things? Not like this, you are understanding. And the second thing to look at is that there should be a duet.
If we make a very strong problem statement, Bro, this is very crazy. If we select this and tell this, then we will move forward. The first round will be cracked. Understood? The first round is mostly based on PPT. But you won't be able to make it in the future. Myself and my co-founder, Adwit, we know how much you want to invest. I want to tell you the basics. No matter how much ideas you break, we will give more preference to those who have made something. So if your project is running, your prototype is working, you will be giving the most priority.
Make something that you can make. Something doable. I know all this. Don't do it. When you are selecting a guide, there will be a lot of seniors in your college. You will get a lot of feedback from them. You can connect with them. You can tell them what you are thinking. Definitely, this is helpful.
More full helpful. You got it? It's very helpful. Proper people. The last thing is that you... The main thing that is going to happen in your life is that you have to discuss with your team. A lot of times, we solo. You come here and say, I can't do it.
For example, when you go to the finals, you'll get a junior. You'll get some advice in your project team. You have to take the feedback. But all the advice... He was doing it too. I was doing it too. No. Ask your team. Brother, the feedback they gave, you have to do it too.
So, understand this. Then you will see how much you can make. Based on your team's capability, you can make such things. Yes, it's a little difficult. But if you do it like this, the fight won't start. So, if you are going to base your main strong thing, it is your team, your communications, and your opinion. As for the new people who are going for the first time, my advice would be that it is not necessary for them to come from every corner. But some attempts are made in preparation.
So, basically, if you don't go out. A lot of people asked me, when I went for the first time, I didn't get to touch my father. I didn't get to learn that much. It was such an environment. Like we live in a college, there is no food nearby. People are cold.
If you go to a place where you participate in a hackathon, you realize how fast the world is moving. You get to learn a lot. You get to meet new people. You get to network. And then one day, you become a thief. So my advice would be the same. I asked the winner once.
He said, you should go. That's it. What else can I do? In the description of this video, I will put some videos of previous year winners who have shared their experiences. I will also put some other resources. You can join our telegram group. More than 50,000 people are there.
